God prepared everything for His creation before they ask for it, and before they even realize they need it. Not only does He provide them with their needs, but also their wants as well.
In Genesis 1 we read that God created the Light by his Word "Let there be light" before creating any living beings that need the light. He created the herbs, plants and fruitful trees before creating the birds that need them. He created the sea creatures and birds before the beasts that need them to feed on them. He then created man after all his needs were met.
God not only satisfied the needs, but the wants as well. God created two great lights where the lesser one to rule the night. He adorned the sky with many stars and constellations as a beautiful touch to the sky. God did not just create simple kind of food for man, but He created all sorts of different fruits and plants. Till this day man continues to discover new kinds of plants and species that were not known to him before. Also, everyday God paints for us a different portrait of brilliant colors in the sky. Each day the clouds in the sky are arranged differently to form the day's unique portrait drawn by the hand of God Himself for man. God met our needs and wants before we ask for anything.
For this reason our Lord and Savior came to us personally telling us "do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on" (Luke 12:22). He then continues by pointing our attention to the ravens that God cares for them without them having to sow nor reap. David, the sweet psalmist of Israel, confirms this fact saying "He gives to the beast its food, And to the young ravens that cry." (Psalm 147:9). When Job the righteous questioned God's care and mercy, God Himself pointed Job's attention to all the minute details that would have never been considered by man. In Job chapter 38 and on, we see God asking Job a series of questions that silenced Job:
"Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?" "To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone" "Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and issued from the womb" "By what way is light diffused, Or the east wind scattered over the earth?" "Or can you guide the Great Bear with its cubs?" "Who has put wisdom in the mind? Or who has given understanding to the heart?" "Can you hunt the prey for the lion, Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions" "Who provides food for the raven, When its young ones cry to God, And wander about for lack of food?" "Do you know the time when the wild mountain goats bear young? Or can you mark when the deer gives birth?"
These and many more questions made Job say "I lay my hand over my mouth" (Job 40:4).
Truly God is gracious beyond measure. His love is beyond understanding. Trusting God should be easy when one would look at His creation and His management of it.
The question is, how do you see God meeting your needs and wants in your life?
